Accessible by ferry, Shelter Island sits between the North and South Forks and is a place of complete serenity (and is the center of our wedding weekend). We recommend hiking at the Mashomack Coastal Preserve, swimming at Wades or Crescent Beach, visiting Sylvester Manor Educational Farm and dining at one of the many restaurants and bars.
As you drive towards the beaches of eastern Long Island, the land splits in two and is separated by Peconic Bay. The north side of the split, referred to as the North Fork is filled with wineries and coastal towns. Below are some of our favorite spots on the North Fork.
Explore greenport
Located closest to Shelter Island connected by the North Ferry, Greenport is known for its harborside shops, carousel, restaurants and bars.
